A bit earlier this year but nevertheless I got to spend another week with the NHS. I have learned that loud music - more specifically the vibrations from it - can contribute to a pneumothorax. I am not saying 'cause' because I don't believe it does - there is the precondition of a lung disease or predisposition to pneumothorax due to other factors, such as ankylosing spondalitis or, in many cases, simply being slim, tall and male (and a smoker). That said, if your lungs are predisposed to weakne…

Heart Shaped World started when a pneumo-thorax (collapsed lung) gave me time off work and a determination to fill the time with something I'd long wanted to do. 12 months on and I'd regained a decent level of fitness, was looking forwards to early retirement and building up the heart shaped empire - still am, in fact, but have just come home from hospital after another pneumo-thorax. So if things have seemed quiet on the heart shaped world front of late, there has been a good reason for it! I a…

The weekend before last I had a number of requests - as always at this time of the year - for my 'tip' for the Grand National. The half joking, as ever, is that 'if one really is a fortune teller then one would know.' Well, one isn't, try the tea leaves. However, there was one thing I had felt strongly and which I mentioned to several of those asking - I had a bad feeling about McKelvey, poor doomed McKelvey, championed by the BBC in the weeks leading up to the race following his recovery from i…

Sorcerer seeks apprentices...
Yes, the Heart Shaped World professional reader course is now ready to roll. It is built around a book (The Tarot Professional) which covers every aspect of reading professionally, from in depth knowledge of the cards, by way of managing party bookings, listing email readings (with or without eBay!) and completing your tax return on-line; not to mention sections on hypnotic suggestion, astrology, graphic design, website building... and with ten assignment topics th…

By popular demand... I've had my Tarot guide published - this is the book designed for tarot readers who want to progress from beginners and casual readers to confident, accomplished readers with the beginnings of their own style. For those who have had the earlier eBook editions, this is now the 6th edition and includes - brand new - a special section on how to easily memorize the entire tarot deck's meanings. No more looking up the manual! This is always the biggest confidence booster and to e…

Until he was 40, Ben Kilham believed himself to be dyslexic-autistic and consequently able to contribute little to natural science, his great passion. Whilst the documentary about him (aired recently on 5 in the UK) left some intriguing blanks, it covers the 12 years from when Ben, at 40, discovered that his IQ was in the top 1% and that, more amazingly, he had a natural empathy with black bears. He became, back then, the first person ever to hand rear a pair of black bear cubs and in the dozen…

OK, this time the internal links actually work (doh!). There are still glitches here and there but I'm working on this at the moment and won't interrupt service just yet awhile.

The big main site is now up. It should be possible for readings to be booked without diverting through eBay but that may be asking too much of the technology... I'm just happy to finally have the main part running. There is much more still to come (Chinese Astrology for example) and would love to hear any suggestions from the heart shaped world out there

Taking five whilst finishing a page devoted to relationships and Astrology. The main site should launch this weekend, aside from odd pages like this one, its all testing links etc. It has been a long haul (since last May) and not helped by having to start again from scratch in November (not the cat's fault, for once).
It's great to see new members popping up here, and to see people starting groups and finding new friends. It's what this section of hsw is all about. I wanted a blog function and…

A strange one. I work full time, despite being well past retirement age (can't afford to give up and anyway I love it!) as editor and publisher. I live on the beautiful Isle of Wight, inspiration for a thousand photographs and much to look at and fill my soul with joy. I work 24/7 with spirit, with my companions, guides and helpers, and those who come to me because at some point, Universe willing, I will be writing their stories. As they are all famous people from history, this is an exciting an…
