Heart Shaped World

Tarot and Astrology

A bit earlier this year but nevertheless I got to spend another week with the NHS. I have learned that loud music - more specifically the vibrations from it - can contribute to a pneumothorax. I am not saying 'cause' because I don't believe it does - there is the precondition of a lung disease or predisposition to pneumothorax due to other factors, such as ankylosing spondalitis or, in many cases, simply being slim, tall and male (and a smoker). That said, if your lungs are predisposed to weakness, the vibes from bass and drums can be a hazard. Anyone who doubts this is welcome to stand in front of my drummer, Jason, in full thrash - you'll be reaching for a flak jacket. Bass vibrations can shake walls - one bassist I worked with blew a two storey ivy covered trellis off the outside wall of the pub - one can easily imagine the effects on a weakened anatomy.

After a year of intense teaching activity especially one to one locally and with a busy season of live readings, I've now decided to hang up my one to one teacher boots - and the music projects, and the acting, and... anything else likely to generate thoracic pressure, at least until I've had my procedure at The Royal Brompton (not long now!) and will be in a more stable condition - ie less likely to be booking a big white taxi and a week on a chest drain. So I'm busy writing and focusing now on my online presence. There are now HSW 'apprentices' in 17 countries! It's really nice to know that the word has spread so far and it's certainly the best thing about the internet - having breakfast and reading chatty emails from new friends in Hungary, USA, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, China (yes, China!), Thailand, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Romania, Poland, Sweden and Indonesia is a joy.

The Tarot Professional book is now available on it's own, from Amazon -

The Pro course is still available through the website and I now have a beginners course available absolutely free! Also from the website. There have been some changes to the website, minor but telling - and many more planned over the coming few weeks. For the most part, the changes are in the on-line shop and I will be listing some new exclusive items in the next few days. Watch this space for news.

I now have the excellent AWeber managing my client lists and have just relaunched the newsletter using this service so subscribers have been asked to confirm their subscription or opt out - should mean no duplications in future.

Normal blogging is resumed, at last
